Following the Alpha 5.0 test on Nyx I the previous day, CIG released a new PTU build last night bearing version number 4.10.3 (13132336), this time open to all waves. On the official Discord channel, the team warned the night before that it was preparing "a new 4.10.3 build for a possible PTU update over the weekend," while thanking the community for 5.0 testing and promising "more news soon on new 5.0 PTU builds": this build is part of the same testing cycle.

🔭 Week's Sneak Peek

Sneak Peek

The weekly teaser this time bears the enigmatic caption "For Science" and appears to show a fragment of technical equipment signed Saga Datasystems, the human component manufacturer that notably produces the AMX-1 Repair Bot and M3-A Multifunction Space Drone. As always with the Sneak Peek, the image confirms nothing specific: it mainly invites the community to speculate on what CIG is preparing, perhaps new scientific equipment or a companion drone.

Weekly Update: IAE 2956 Countdown (CIG, November 6) summarizes the IAE 2956 countdown detailed above, highlights the new Centaurus variant of the Constellation Mk V, and announces the launch of November Subscriber Perks: a meditation-themed Flair, new Month Vehicles from Aopoa and Gatac continuing the Xi'an theme, and a showcase of the Hurston Sunrise gallery from contributor ShadeOfLight on the Community Hub. The email also confirms that the final stage of the 2026 Bar Citizen World Tour will be held in Barcelona on November 14, and notes that Squadron 42 is now available on the RSI and Steam wishlists (see Squadron 42 section below).

💬 Spectrum: summary of most discussed topics

The general forum remains active with follow-ups to the PTU test, but the tone hardens noticeably compared to yesterday: the first detailed feedback on Nyx I and certain ship changes raise real concerns, without any official CIG response appearing in today's threads.

Ship balancing and changes under fire

GDC armor change in PTU 5.0 unacceptable (89 votes, 62 replies, tagged Concern) is the day's most voted thread: players judge the new PTU's GDC armor change unjustified and call for a rollback. In a similar vein, What have you done to the Galaxy, CIG? (73 votes, 89 replies) worries about perceived changes to the Galaxy carrier, while liberator unauthorized landings... addresses unauthorized landings observed with the Liberator, echoing IAE threads on these same aircraft.

Pledges, taxes and griefing: today's malaise

Pledge Paradox: If we don't own our ships, why are we paying sales tax on them? (66 votes, 55 replies) relaunches a fundamental debate about the legal status of pledged ships against the sales tax applied to purchases. On more concrete ground, Shooting other players in PTU should be a bannable offense (64 votes, 144 replies, Concern) calls for sanctions against gratuitous griefing in test environment, a theme extended by dealing with open air ship landing pads and griefers about open-air landing pads.

Between wonder and questions about the game's direction

Not all feedback is negative: I...cried. (28 votes, 27 replies) and NYX I : Stunning job, CIG! unreservedly praise the visual work accomplished on Nyx I. In parallel, two threads question the game's longer-term trajectory: Star Citizen going the Star Trek way (25 votes, 69 replies) and Star Citizen : a MMO that will punish you if you're not Soloing the game, which questions the balance between solo and group play. On a lighter note, Are we going with Stapler or Nutcracker on the Hyun already debates what nickname to give the new Hyun ship glimpsed in the IAE video, and CIG please fix this before IAE! urges the team to fix a bug before the event.

💬 Reddit r/starcitizen (by theme, general sentiment)

IAE 2956 is clearly stealing the spotlight today: as soon as the schedule is announced and the Save The Date video published, the subreddit begins to dissect ship images frame by frame. In the background, exploration of Nyx I continues at a noticeably more leisurely pace than yesterday.

The subreddit dissects IAE's first images

IAE schedule out now relays publication of the complete event program, and New ship video from updated IAE Countdown signals the update to the countdown video. Stills from this video fuel much of today's discussion.

Drake Marauder spotted in IAE trailer The Drake Marauder as spotted in the IAE trailer, whose silhouette recalls retro combat ships (06/11).

IAE Drake Marauder from the trailer details a design judged "straight out of a good old Freelancer," with seven weapon hardpoints counted on screen, enthusiasm shared by Super jazzed for Marauder! which makes predictions about the size of these weapons. The Liberator and Galaxy are not left behind: Liberator's giant engines look awesome and The Galaxys Hangar looks massiv comment on the impressive sizes of both carriers.

Anvil Liberator photographed in IAE video The Anvil Liberator captured at a clear angle in the IAE video (06/11).

Images of Hyun and Marauder + BIS paints completes the image collection, while Another IAE reveal vid, another reddit post calling out Inforunners for being confidently wrong pokes fun at, in the tone of a recurring joke, the incorrect predictions of a community prediction channel.

Nyx I, second day: life continues on the new planet

Captures from the Nyx I surface continue with The minute you step off your ship on Nyx 1, Nyx I - Mountains & Deserts and Nyx I - Grasslands, while Where are the higher mountains om Nyx? wonders at not finding the relief shown in CIG's videos. The weather truly is amazing praises the weather system, and People can say what they want about Star Citizen, but CIG cooked with Nyx 1 NGL sums up general enthusiasm about the planet's rendering. On the gameplay side, You need to wipe your helmet visor again in rain. rejoices at the return of this immersive effect, and Very happy the clipper is getting the crafting bench turned on confirms in practice the activation of the Clipper's fabrication bench announced in the previous day's build.

Community life and small asides

Olli43 is back streaming SC on Twitch, after his short stint at CIG signals the return to streaming of a well-known community figure after a brief stint at CIG. First splash screen change in how many years? remarks a rare change to the loading screen, and Citizencon vs wawe 1 Genesis compares, somewhat disappointed, CitizenCon demo colors to those in the current PTU.

💬 Discord: what's circulating on the servers

As soon as the IAE Save The Date video went live, the community began dissecting the footage frame by frame looking for clues about future ships. A community relay thus estimates that the Gatac Hyun is oriented toward a generalist salvage role, and that on screen the Drake Marauder displays seven weapon hardpoints, likely split between sizes 2 and 3, though no official CIG confirmation has yet specified these numbers. The same channels also circulated the entire official video in better quality, allowing the community to spot new details on the Marauder and Hyun BIS paints.

🎖️ Squadron 42

CIG confirms, in its weekly newsletter, that Squadron 42 is now available on the RSI and Steam wishlists, a first concrete step toward the solo campaign's release.

On r/Squadron42, a community thread, SQ42 release date Q2 2027 = ILW (Invictus Launch Week) / Defense Con?, advances the hypothesis of a Q2 2027 release, timed with Invictus Launch Week or a Defense Con. This is pure player speculation with no official source to back it up: CIG has announced no release date for Squadron 42.

🕵️ Leaks & Datamining

Unofficial content from community datamining: subject to change, never confirmed by CIG.

New liveries for Argo Moth

Four new liveries have been spotted in files for the Argo Moth: Downrush, Braken, Skylight, and Stargazer.

Ship traffic at Area 18

A ship traffic video (.mp4) at Area 18 circulates on datamining channels, showing spaceport ambient activity on the build currently under testing.

Manufacturer posters for IAE 2956

A board of promotional posters by manufacturer for IAE 2956 has been spotted in game files, likely meant to decorate event environments.
