🔧 Patch notes and official CIG announcements
Live version remains Alpha 4.10.2 (client and DGS at CL 12913470), with no new movement on the HOTFIX channel since yesterday. The main official activity today is on the internal testing side.
RSI Launcher 2.19.0 RC2: a redesigned downloads panel
CIG has made Launcher 2.19.0 RC2 available to Evocati testers. Notable changes:
- A redesigned downloads panel in the header, displaying the current installation version and channel, detailed step-by-step progress, pause/resume/cancel controls, as well as network, disk, CPU, and memory usage.
- A reorganizable "Up Next" queue via mouse or keyboard, and a list of completed downloads.
- An optional shader compilation step at the end of installation or update, with progress displayed in the panel; it remains possible to launch the game at any time by interrupting compilation, or skip it entirely.
- An explicit refusal to start an already-running game (or one in the process of launching), with a dialog box that names the relevant process.
- An improved data patcher: smoother progress reporting, a verification pass that repeats until files are clean, more detailed error messages, and a dedicated dialog when disk space runs low during download.
- An update to the colors of map systems in the guides interface.
On the fixes side, the panel now only redraws values that change (less load during installations), and a bug that muted audio and minimized the launcher before displaying the "game already running" message has been corrected.
A third Evocati technical preview for Genesis and Starchitect
Still reserved for Evocati testers under NDA, CIG has opened a new technical test focused on Nyx I, introducing the Starchitect tool: a system that populates an entire planet with points of interest and hooks them into the contract system.
- Content hierarchy: the planet is divided into sectors (large zones like a forest or mountain, each with its own purpose: agriculture, extraction, surveillance, etc.), themselves split into clusters (regions with a visible hub on the star map), then locations (the actual points of interest), and finally tiles (buildings, outposts). Each level receives rules that define its identity, and a draw assigns a faction to each location, influencing building tints, loot, NPCs, and available contracts.
- Procedural names: locations receive names generated from two or three elements (prefix, location type, optional suffix), drawn according to the faction and function of the location. "Compounds," vast complexes assembled from square tiles, are a remarkable variant.
- Contract boards and Guild Halls: contracts are now taken from boards installed in Guild Halls, one per regional hub, which earn reputation with the host guild. A local contract board, specific to each hub, supplements the offering for proximity missions. The interface abandons the mobiglas in favor of a panel that displays more contracts and information, with faction filtering.
- Hub and Spoke and expanded contracts: the principle brings players back to the same central point to chain contracts without straying far; some contracts return to the starting point, others push a bit further. Moving to a declarative system also enables more ambitious contracts that chain multiple locations and multiple objective types.
- Interplanetary server meshing: a first form of meshing statically distributes the different sectors of Nyx I across three separate servers, whereas an entire planet currently fits on a single server. CIG warns that behavioral irregularities can appear when crossing a server boundary, on foot or in vehicles, and invites testers to report them via the Issue Council.
- Technical notes: DX11 is available again for this test (disabled in previous Planet Tech V5 previews) and aims for parity with Vulkan; server performance optimizations were applied ahead of adding Starchitect content; mineable resources, harvestables, and fauna are intentionally not yet active, pending a dedicated service for their compatibility with server meshing.
A CIG developer also warned the day before that internal tests would pause to prepare a new build for a follow-up to this preview.

💬 Spectrum: synthesis of most discussed topics
The general forum has eyes for only one subject today: Squadron 42 localization. The rest of the discussions, noticeably calmer, continues to digest the Centaurus's arrival and lists the usual comfort-of-life grievances, with no -CIG message coming to arbitrate anything during the observed period.
Squadron 42 voice acting, hot topic of the day
Squadron 42 Deserves Full Voice Localization gathers more than 550 votes and 239 replies, by far the most engaged thread of the day. Players there call for full voice dubbing of the game in multiple languages, arguing that a narrative experience of this scale should not remain confined to English subtitles. The discussion unfolds across several parallel threads, including multiple ones in German: SQ42 nicht in Deutsch!?, Danke CIG, für das Ausschließen.., and Why not in german? express marked disappointment. Squadron 42 – What Happened to the Dubbed Versions to the International Community? and Dear CIG, having legendary actors is not a reason to deny players dubbing. It's a reason to make their story accessible to everyone. extend the argument. Conversely, Squadron 42 does not require any voice-overs other than English defends the absence of dubbing in the name of performance capture and original acting, and The financial and logistical costs of localization attempts a more measured analysis of the costs full dubbing would entail. None of these threads come from a -CIG account: at this stage, this is a player debate over a decision they presume has been made, not an announcement confirmed by CIG (see the Squadron 42 section for full context).
The Centaurus, two days after release
The new ship continues to occupy part of the forum, on a noticeably lighter tone than during its reveal. Does Someone figure how to destroy or remove the stupid goldfish fins on the back ?!! (labeled Concern) reignites the debate over its dorsal fins, this time seeking an in-game workaround rather than simply requesting a design change, and How can you justify $300 for a Harbinger vs. a Connie Mark 5? compares its price positioning to the Harbinger's. FPS armor – always the same? and AI Blades will save this game. broaden the discussion to equipment and an AI combat feature hoped for by some players.
A tribute that transcends technical debate
In Memorium of My Son a Star Citizen gathers more than 400 votes and 150 replies: a parent pays tribute to their deceased son, a passionate Star Citizen player, in a thread that reminds us of the community dimension of the game far beyond design debates.

💬 Reddit r/starcitizen (by topic, general sentiment)
The subreddit remains upbeat two days after the Centaurus's arrival: screenshots of its paints and its onboard fighter still dominate the thread, while behind the scenes, a trial event attracts the attention of a handful of curious players.
The Centaurus, still at center stage
Electric Blue Paint and Me getting into my Skylark continue the wave of showcases of the new Constellation/onboard fighter duo, while MKV Cockpit view around Yela and The Ship is gorgeous praise its in-flight rendering. What are your preferred Centaurus Pilot guns? opens the debate on the best pilot weapons to mount on it.
A pilot compares weapons mounted on the Centaurus.
The debate over its dorsal fins also crosses Reddit: So let me get this straight: the Starlancer MAX (the cargo variant of the line) has less cargo than the Connie mk5 is surprised by its cargo capacity, deemed too generous for a ship supposedly dedicated to freight. On the side of new owners, They Got Me Good recounts, with some irony, how a shop visit ended in a Golem-to-Mk V upgrade, and New Daily Driver! shares a photo of a new acquisition.
A first look at Nyx I makes an impression
My experience in the most recent EVO test 10/15/2026 and When I played the first couple tech previews for Genesis, I was skeptical deliver two accounts from players who were able to try today's Evocati technical preview (see Patch notes): varied POIs, new guild-based contract system, and biomes finally judged visually distinct from one another, unlike earlier, more mixed attempts.
Verse life and small discoveries
Cool partial eclipse from one of the work centers on Hurston captures an unexpected lighting effect on Hurston, Lorville is still my favorite landing zone to come home to. defends the merits of that landing zone, and Rave Perseus makes fun of a bug that triggers emergency mode and turns the ship's interior into an impromptu nightclub. What ship is this? is finally solved in the comments: it's an old placeholder model, unrelated to any game ship. BigBoy Kepler: From obsolete GPUs to an AI-powered Star Citizen bridge crew details an original personal project: a bridge crew entirely piloted by local language models, running on old graphics cards.
Echoes of the RSI Discovery Month event
What ships are people using the RSI Event reward components on? and Twitch drop Phoenix decoration revisit the event's rewards, the latter noting in passing a recurring issue with decorative objects that float instead of resting on ship furniture. A thread also relays, without official confirmation in the collected sources, the existence of a Centaurus raffle organized via CIG and RSI YouTube channels: CIG is doing Centaurus Giveaway.
🎖️ Squadron 42
The voice acting question takes center stage
A Reddit thread claims that the absence of a German dubbed version for Squadron 42 has been confirmed: No german audio for Squadron 42 confirmed / keine deutsche Sprachausgabe. No official source collected today (comm-link, email, -CIG message on Spectrum) substantiates this claim: it remains, as it stands, a community relay of information not confirmed by CIG. Yet it is this relay that seems to have set Spectrum ablaze, where the thread Squadron 42 Deserves Full Voice Localization became the most discussed topic of the day (see the Spectrum section for details of the exchanges), between players demanding multilingual dubbing and others defending the choice of an all-English soundtrack. Also on Spectrum, Squadron 42 Co-op: Request for Official CIG Clarification on Originally Promised Features requests, in its wake, official clarification on other features announced in the past.
Complete debriefs from the Manchester event
Creators invited to the Squadron 42 demonstration weekend in Manchester have published their detailed day-by-day accounts (see Videos section, GautSlayer channel): five hours of testing the beginning of the game with a Mark Hamill appearance, a tour of CIG studios including the "The Only Constant" soundstage and the Versa motion capture room, then a Q&A session with project directors and leads. On Reddit, Weekend in Manchester for SQ42 delivers a more personal account of the same event, where its author recounts also meeting Chris and Sandi Roberts.
On r/Squadron42, I'm genuinely concerned about SQ42's marketing and how many people still don't understand what this game is worries about part of the general public that still confuses Squadron 42 with a mere Star Citizen update, a theme that intersects questions raised elsewhere about the game's communication strategy.
🕵️ Leaks & Datamining
Non-official content from community datamining: subject to change, never confirmed by CIG.
Datamining confirms and quantifies the scope of the Starchitect test mentioned above (see Patch notes): Nyx I would now have 857 locations distributed across 8 sectors and 119 clusters, with 62 terraforming stations in orbit and a new L1 station. The breakdown by location type gives an idea of the diversity sought: 262 unnamed mission spawn points, 115 survey sites, 93 habitation locations, 90 agricultural ones, 82 meteor crash sites, 62 caves, 55 surveillance sites, 41 extraction, 25 logistics, 17 communications, and 15 compounds. Game files also reveal the arrival of new RediMake item fabricators for the Anvil Carrack and a Drake kit, as well as new activatable equipment linked to missions: planetary relays, mining extractors, antennas, and irrigation systems. On the mission code side, references found in the files point to a "Terraformer" located above Nyx I, continuing the pattern of terraforming stations listed above.
Provisional color liveries ("placeholder") have also been spotted in files for five ships: the Aurora Mk II, Constellation Mk V, Hermes, Skylark, and Galaxy, all in the same red/black/black colorway.

Same treatment for the Skylark, the Centaurus's onboard fighter.
Finally, an isolated image mentions "BIS 2956 pieces," though we cannot yet link this discovery to any specific event or feature.
