TL;DR

🔧 Patch notes and official CIG announcements

Live version remains Alpha 4.10.2 (client and server at CL 12913470). The HOTFIX channel, closed since the day before, experienced a new development tonight: a server-side fix (DGS 12939222) is now being tested in canary on multiple shards. It includes multiple server crash fixes as well as a repair for the RSI Discovery Month event total score, which wasn't adding up correctly. On the Evocati test thread, a CIG developer indicates that internal testing will take a one or two day pause, with hopes of resuming on a new "Genesis" build by Friday.

CIG has completed the full reveal of the RSI Constellation Mk V Centaurus and its embedded fighter, the Skylark, through official channels: a dedicated comm-link, a Q&A with vehicle and gameplay teams, and a Behind the Ships video. The ship is presented as a multi-role evolution of the Constellation line, combining heavy armament, significant cargo capacity and an embedded fighter to extend its range of action. The email sent to subscribers emphasizes the continuity of the Constellation heritage while claiming increased versatility compared to the Mk IV.

RSI Constellation Mk V Centaurus The RSI Constellation Mk V Centaurus, officially unveiled on October 14, 2026.

To encourage testing, RSI offers five days of free access to the Centaurus and its Skylark to anyone who completes the RSI Discovery Month mission: Constellation Rental Offer. Several community publications, on Reddit as well as on Spectrum, mention a launch price around $275 in standalone version and $300 with the Skylark included. This figure does not appear as such in the official sources collected, but several independent threads converge to cite it.

On the shop side, RSI has also consolidated all its old starter packs (outside Concierge multi-ship packs) into a single offer, the First Flight Pack, centered on the Aurora Mk II and accompanied by 30-day loans for the Golem, Fortune and Intrepid, to let newcomers try multiple playstyles before choosing their first ship.

💬 Spectrum: synthesis of most discussed topics

The general forum erupts today around an unexpected aesthetic detail: the fins of the new Centaurus. Behind this petition claiming first place, the rest of the exchanges remain concentrated on the Mk V from all angles (price, armor, cargo capacity, embedded fighter), on the mixed reception of the RSI Discovery Month event and on a handful of older grievances that continue to simmer. No -CIG message came to settle these debates over the observed period.

The Centaurus fins, despite themselves at the center of attention

With 162 votes and 79 replies, Petition against Fins is by far the most engaged thread of the day: it calls for the removal, or at least the removability, of the two fins visible on the Centaurus hull, judged ungainly by part of the community. The question continues on a more practical note with Can you guys please be clear about the Connie MK V variants?, which asks CIG to better distinguish the different versions of the Mk V.

The Mk V dissected from every angle

The new ship takes up a large part of technical discussions. Too Realistic (labeled PTU, 62 votes) and Which is it? Less armor than subcap gunships or more? question its real armor, while Constellation Mark 5 Armor values??? and Ship Weapon Sizes Need Rebalanced broaden the debate to overall weapon and armor balance. Why are the Constellation snub choices only single seat fighters? questions the choice of Skylark as the only embedded fighter option, and Connie mkV small capacitor - bug, or intended? reports an energy capacitor deemed abnormally low. On pricing, Centaurus warbond $275 just dropped. confirms the sale, and A Constellation Centauros is cheaper than Aquila. Because? wonders about its pricing position relative to the Aquila. Reception remains overall positive however: Centaurus. Nailed it., MK V Absolutely beautiful and The Constellation MK V, A Well-Deserved Thank You to Star Citizen! praise the result, nuanced by Centaurus, great ship but which raises some reservations. Centaurus Paints and Theorycrafting Mk V Aquila extend discussion toward future variants, and MK5 Phoenix Request already requests a Phoenix variant.

RSI Discovery Month, mixed reception

The month's event continues to divide. What's happened with RSI Discover Event Missions? and RSI Event question the course of missions, while RSI event love - WHOLE SERVERS WORKING TOGETHER! instead praises the collective dynamic created by entire servers cooperating to reach objectives.

Game life, bugs and nostalgia

A touching thread stands out from the lot: In Memorium of My Son a Star Citizen (30 votes, 16 replies) pays tribute to a deceased player, recalling the community dimension of the game beyond technical debates. On the technical side, Twitch drops broken. and Where is my subscriber money going relay frustrations about reward distribution, and Remove Insurance costs till the Hangers are fixed calls for a suspension of insurance costs as long as hangar issues persist. Sunsetted ships only available ingame and classis ship dealership discusses the fate of ships removed from sale, a question extended by Can someone please explain to me the meaning of "gold standard". On the comfort side, Crafting should be able to upgrade existing items, Couches are still not in the game. 4th patch, Hydrogen fuel costs are too high. and Matching Skylark Paints on RSI Store chain together punctual requests. Finally, Feeling disconnected from the development (labeled Concern) and Neither gone nor forgotten close the section on a more reflective note about CIG's communication pace.

💬 Reddit r/starcitizen (by theme, general sentiment)

The subreddit lives at the pace of the Centaurus: price, aesthetics, cargo capacity, everything goes there, in an overall enthusiastic but not without jabs atmosphere. Veterans of other ships (Asgard, Corsair) wonder about their future, and self-deprecation is never far away.

Centaurus, uncontested star of the day

Centaurus is up $300/$275 Warbond confirms the sale also noted on Spectrum, while Checked the PTV capacity of the Centaurus practically tests its hold by fitting 22 PTV buggies in it. Constellation MK V - Heritage Paint reveals a tribute paint variant, and Cerberus? finds that another of its tints furiously evokes Mass Effect license aesthetics.

On design, I don't know man... I just really dig wedges. praises the angular lines of the new ship, All of these Connie MK5 posts are cool and all, but do y'all wanna see my nameable MPUV? jokes about the onslaught of posts on the subject, and I'm really feeling that itch... hesitates between splurging for the Mk V or sticking with their current Asgard.

Old faithful, new doubts

The arrival of such a versatile ship relaunches questions about the rest of the fleet: Asgard owners. How are we feeling? and Long time Corsair owners, how we feeling? question longtime owners about their feelings, the latter thread mentioning a $25 upgrade to the Skylark that would almost triple their current ship's cargo capacity.

Between suggestions and grinding

Waste disposal spots should be in every ship that has a hab. proposes a comfort addition for habitat ships, and Hot take: Cutlass MK2 is next (hinted by behind the ships?) speculates, from a plan in the official video, on the next ship to receive Gold Standard / Mk II treatment. In direct echo to the Spectrum petition against fins, Please for the love of all that is holy, make the little fins on the MK5 cosmetic and removeable like the crane on the Basher. makes the same request on Reddit.

The fins of the Centaurus The fins of the Centaurus, target of a community request repeated both on Reddit and Spectrum.

More technical, You know, what really grinds my gears? complains about the impossibility of precisely positioning the cursor in text fields, and brb attaching the majority of my MDC's mass to another dimension ridicules a persistent physics bug on object mass.

Community and winks

shout out to those players who take the time to organise the event groups thanks players who voluntarily organize groups for the RSI Discovery Month event, while Todays Behind the Ships: simply relays the day's official video. The Force is strong with this one... twists a visual in a joking tone, assumed as such by its author.

💬 Discord: what circulates on the servers

Watch channels relay external news but closely followed by part of the community: Epic Games announces full deployment of Easy Anti-Cheat on Linux. Star Citizen already uses this solution, this development is perceived by affected players as a step that could eventually facilitate more robust game support on this platform.

🎖️ Squadron 42

Squadron 42's marketing campaign kicks into high gear. A Reddit thread relays an ad for the game installed in Times Square, New York, and a video filmed on the spot gives a complete overview: Sq42 Advert in New York and Here's a video of the Times Square ad.

On the demonstration event side organized in Manchester, several photos circulate on Reddit, relayed from the official game Twitter account. Group photo of the guests with Mark Hamill shows the session guests alongside the actor, presented under the name of his character, Lieutenant-Commander Steve "Old Man" Colton, while Mark Hamill playing Squadron 42 in VR shows him testing the game via the Steam Frame headset. Some behind the scenes pics from the Manchester event and Squadron 42 Instagram has photos of the demo event complete the series with behind-the-scenes shots. However, no detailed account of this session was published by CIG in the covered period.

On Spectrum, Squadron 42, Open Development, and the Shift Away from Backer Access (33 votes, 55 replies) worries about communication judged increasingly oriented toward the general public at the expense of early subscribers to the game, a theme extended by 95% + of funding for Squadron 42 came from Star Citizen, which argues that most of the solo game's funding comes from Star Citizen ship sales rather than its own pledges, a claim that remains at this stage a player opinion rather than a figure confirmed by CIG. In a lighter vein, SQ42 Pico Spotted! :open_mouth: notes a fleeting appearance of an element in promotional material, Squadron 42 trivia: Eugene Morrow, aka "he sounds familiar...." catches a wink in the choice of a voice actor, and Squadron 42 Demo-Backer Wants to Play. recalls the persistent wait of some historical subscribers to finally gain access to a playable demo.
