🔧 Patch notes and official CIG announcements
Alpha 4.10.1 (build 12650677) has left the PTU to join the LIVE environment. Long-term persistence is preserved and new characters still start with 20,000 aUEC. The patch focuses on four areas:
- Orison Relief Support: a three-week event with 14 new contracts (thematic armor and weapons as rewards) to help rebuild Orison after the Siege.
- Ground Vehicle Soft Death: revision of how ground vehicles take critical damage before complete destruction.
- Creature and Plant Loot Quality: adjustment of loot quality from fauna and flora.
- Weapon Attachment Availability: tweaking of weapon accessory availability.
- Hauling and Delivery Cargo Distribution: rebalancing of cargo distribution for transport and delivery missions.
On the fixes side, 4.10.1 closes 37 tickets, including 16 reported directly by the Issue Council. CIG notably cites the fix for contract cargo appearing in the wrong location, vehicles stuck at ASOP terminals, cargo elevators remaining frozen mid-transfer, and several exploits patched. The stability report notes 3 client-side crashes and 2 server-side crashes fixed. The full notes detail each point.
Aegis Sabre Raven EX: the fighter that won't let its target escape
CIG has unveiled the Aegis Sabre Raven EX, the latest evolution in the Sabre Raven lineage. Its distinguishing feature: an onboard quantum inhibitor capable of cutting enemy ship quantum jumps, plus four configurable weapon hardpoints (size 3). CIG also published a dedicated Q&A where the vehicle team answers questions about this fighter and the ATLS IKTI Akuma.

Nine Tails Shogun Pack and Argo ATLS IKTI Akuma
The Nine Tails Shogun Pack brings together a heavily modified motorized suit, weapons, armor and matching paint for the Drake Cutlass, all in Nine Tails gang colors. It is anchored by the Argo ATLS IKTI Akuma, a variant that according to CIG offers more consistent fire rate and higher impact than the standard ATLS IKTI.

RSI Aurora Mk I: retiring from Pledge Store on September 30
CIG has confirmed that the RSI Aurora Mk I will leave the Pledge Store on September 30, 2026, making way for the Aurora Mk II. For players who already own the ship, nothing changes: it remains fully playable and supported (repairs, refueling, maintenance, components), just like the Hornet Mk I. CIG also notes that new ways to obtain it in-game may emerge in the future. However, any ship, upgrade or CCU involving the Aurora Mk I still in buyback queue will no longer be recoverable after the retirement date.

📧 Emails
CIG sent a newsletter announcing the launch of Alpha 4.10.1 and the Aegis Sabre Raven EX, as well as the Nine Tails Shogun Pack. The content fully overlaps with the announcements detailed in the Patch notes section above, with no additional information unique to this email.

💬 Spectrum: synthesis of most discussed topics
The general forum has talked about only one thing over the past 24 hours: the sale of the ATLS IKTI Akuma. The dominant tone is anger and disappointment, with threads accumulating hundreds of votes and replies in just a few hours, without any message bearing the CIG badge coming to ease tensions on this specific point.
The outcry over the IKTI Akuma
The most voted thread of the day, « It wasn't enough to sell the only thing that could only be earned in game, you had to sell a P2W version of it », crystallizes the reproach against CIG: having transformed an in-game earning objective into a Pledge Store product, with superior statistics compared to the free version to boot. In its wake, « Itki was supposed to be not for sale, no? » and « Most uncool move CIG, P2win embarrassment » repeat the same grievance, while « Locking stuff behind warbond bundles puts a bad taste in my mouth » and « Why Can We Buy Gang Gear??? » broaden the criticism to the entire Nine Tails bundle. A touch of irony also circulates with « Listen, Marketing literally said in the Q&A this sale is a social experiment », which mocks official communication. Practical threads attempt to sort through the confusion, such as « Good IKTI FAQ » or « Please unbundle the Ikti ». Not all voices are critical: some players openly embrace their purchase in « Thank you CIG for letting me purchase the IKTI » or « Unpopular opinion, I'm fine with the IKTI sale », and one thread even soberly applauds the fact that the IKTI remains accessible without going through Wikelo.
The Sabre Raven EX, between enthusiasm and skepticism
The new fighter sparks a more contrasting than consensual reception. « Sabre Raven, LTI or no? Just tell us » illustrates the expectation of practical information about ship insurance, while « Raven EX - this will be awful » and « Sabre Raven EX loses speed in decoupled » point to concerns about its flight behavior. More enthusiastic players instead applaud the ATLS IKTI Akuma in Geo configuration and thank CIG for the Geo version of the IKTI.
Gameplay, balancing and production
Outside of today's controversy, « Refining shouldn't be a slot machine with a value determined by mining » critiques refining readability, a theme that finds direct echo in the datamining discoveries detailed below. Space combat remains under tension with « Getting jousted by a ballistic m80 show how much the flight model is just skill-less slop » and « Speed meta it is », while players question the communication timeline in « Cant we really get any announcements about updates more than a day in advance? » and the fate of AI blades in « almost q4 2026...are AI blades being abandoned? ». Finally, today's event doesn't escape criticism with « A relief event with no medical gameplay », and one player thanks the team for the patch notes themselves in « Patch notes appreciation ».
💬 Reddit r/starcitizen (by theme, general sentiment)
The mood on r/starcitizen is noticeably more turbulent than usual: general sentiment oscillates between indignation and biting irony, with very few messages devoted to anything other than the IKTI sale. The topic echoes almost trait-for-trait the Spectrum threads of the day, evidence of rare community convergence on the same grievance.
"CIG lied": the IKTI Akuma controversy
The tone is set by « So that was a lie (they're selling the IKTI) », which recalls that an older video presented the IKTI as a vehicle to be earned exclusively in-game. Another thread resurfaces a quote attributed to CIG dated June 2025, « You can find new battle vehicles that can only be earned in-game », to highlight the disconnect with today's sale. The sentiment continues with « So CIG Lied To Us? » and a relay of MrKraken's comment on the subject, which claims that selling power is more lucrative for CIG than cosmetics alone. Several players question the balancing itself: one thread claims that the sold version of the IKTI has triple weapon damage and triple jump fuel compared to the earnable version, a gap that echoes the datamining findings detailed below. The tone becomes more forceful with « Fudge you CIG », which denounces warbond packs at 75 dollars as opportunistic, while others take a step back with « Everything is fine once you realize PLEDGE STORE = GAME » or a more measured reflection on what CIG chooses to sell rather than what players choose to buy. A thread finally relays, without taking sides on its appropriateness, a CIG statement that « many folks prefer the comfort of knowing during the Alpha period that they've secured their vehicles permanently », interpreted by some as a post-hoc justification.
Around the patch and game life
On a more factual register, one thread relays the official reminder of the RSI Aurora Mk I retirement, and another relays comments attributed to Duncan-CIG on how elevators work, now teleported rather than physically animated except for cable elevators like those at GrimHEX. One player revisits the Wikelo revamp in « Wikelo 4.10 re-work », finding the contract little different from the previous version despite the promise of change. A thread also relays a quote attributed to Chris Roberts on game funding, « For me, it's really about being able to make the best game possible ».
Guides, tools and community creativity
The practical side of the subreddit remains active despite the storm: one player shares a complete guide to the 13 contracts of the Orison Relief Support event, and an amateur developer presents BindSight, an out-of-game tool for visualizing and editing input bindings. On the atmosphere side, a thank-you message to Silvan-CIG praises the game's virtual reality experience, and humor remains on the menu with screenshots ridiculing daily quirks, from cluttered cargo elevators to funny scenes at the Admin Center.
🕵️ Leaks & Datamining
Unofficial content from community datamining: subject to change, never confirmed by CIG.
Today's discoveries directly illuminate the controversy at hand. According to datamining records, the Argo ATLS IKTI Akuma differs significantly from the standard ATLS GEO IKTI: 4.5 units of thruster fuel versus 1.6, slower in-flight recovery (0.3/s versus 0.8/s) but longer jump though less height, as well as different damage mitigation distribution (15% for torso and head versus 30% on the standard version, but 50% for arms and legs versus 40%). Its dedicated weapon, the CF-999 « Akuma » repeater, would display 28 impact damage points versus 11.3 for the CF-117 Bulldog Repeater equipping the classic IKTI, plus 12 plasma damage points in a 3-meter radius on impact, which echoes the gap mentioned by players on Reddit.
Statistics comparison between the ATLS GEO IKTI Akuma and the standard version, recorded by the datamining community.
Still on the datamining side, the text describing refining speeds appears to have been reworked without changing the underlying mechanic: previously clear labels (« High Speed », « Moderate Speed », « Low Speed ») have been replaced by a series of more ambiguous formulations (« Fast », « Very Fast », « Fastest » for fast speed; « Slightly Slow », « Moderate Speed » for medium speed; « Slowest », « Very Slow », « Slow », « Slightly Fast » for slow speed), which explains the confusion noted by players on Spectrum regarding refining. The CF-999 « Akuma » would also have seen its weapon type shift from « Laser » to « Plasma » between the PTU and current version.
Finally, new paint jobs for the Sabre lineage (base, Raven and Raven EX) are circulating: Tribunal, Beyond, Darkshade and Blue Steel.
