Alpha 4.10.2 Now LIVE: Mk IV Gold Standard, RSI Discovery Month and Mk V Centaurus (October 10, 2026)

Cavalera editorial team · October 10, 2026 · 4 min read

Alpha 4.10.2 has gone LIVE with persistence preserved, the Gold Standard overhaul of the Constellation Mk IV and the RSI Discovery Month event. CIG has also added the reveal of the Constellation Mk V Centaurus and the RSI Skylark snub fighter, confirmed by the Roadmap Roundup.

After roughly four hours of maintenance, CIG deployed Alpha 4.10.2 to the LIVE environment, as indicated in the patch notes. Long-term persistence is preserved and new accounts start with 20,000 aUEC. The patch rests on three pillars: RSI Discovery Month, the move of the Constellation Mk IV to Gold Standard, and an overhaul of the network code for physical objects. In its Roadmap Roundup of October 9, the studio also confirms the arrival of two new ships.

Stability: 71 Bugs Fixed

Compared to 4.10.1, the patch fixes 71 bugs and 5 stability issues, including several exploits. Thirteen fixes come directly from Issue Council reports, each linked to its original report. Notable corrections include:

  • vehicles that remained stuck when exiting quantum travel;
  • contracts shown as unavailable right after being accepted;
  • landing gear and decals displaying incorrectly;
  • armor and helmets with the wrong name or no storage;
  • vehicles leaving the hangar tilted or with their engines running.

The Mk IV Moves to Gold Standard

The four variants (Andromeda, Aquila, Phoenix, Taurus) have been reworked.

  • Cockpit: rebuilt canopy, large struts removed between the nose and the cockpit, lighting repositioned, seats revised. The HUD now displays self-destruct, the docking port and shields.
  • Cargo hold: the cargo elevator has its own panel, the loading grid has been revised, the fuel port has been moved, and collisions on the railings have been fixed.
  • Airlock: repositioned and operated from panels built into the wall, with new exterior panels.
  • Turrets: new displays on the upper and lower turrets, gimbal restrictions fixed, upper missile racks rebuilt. The Kruger Merlin bay is reworked across all variants.
  • Interiors: personal storage in living quarters, Phoenix VIP section revised, habitation benches made interactive, dedicated lighting panel for each variant.
  • Exterior: new hull pass, with two paint schemes (a retirement livery and an emerald livery).

Constellations flown by NPCs use the updated hull, and the Collector Constellation Taurus mission reward moves to the Gold Standard version.

Physical Objects and VR Zoom

The network code for free physical objects (crates, grenades, disposable items) has been rewritten. The client previously treated the state sent by the server as either entirely correct or entirely wrong, which led to desyncs and rubber-banding. A confidence score now replaces this: it drops when the client has just acted or when its state is outdated. Corrections rely on velocity adjustments, with teleportation remaining a last resort. Throws and tractor beams follow the same logic: a released object starts from the moment and place of release.

In VR, a dedicated zoom narrows the field of view, pending fully physicalized glasses. It covers interaction, precision aiming in ships and weapon sights, with an intensity setting and an option to disable it.

RSI Discovery Month

The event replaces IASI and is organized into three tracks:

  • Defense: protect the approaches to microTech from pirates for the Bounty Hunters Guild, Foxwell and Northrock.
  • Transport: deliver goods for Ling Family Hauling, Covalex and FTL.
  • Collection: sell materials to Shubin or dismantle hulls (Kruger Merlin, Archimedes, Constellation) for Adagio.

The RSI Discovery Month rental contract grants five days of free access to the Constellation Mk V Centaurus. A Digital Goodies Pack of 15 cosmetic items accompanies it.

Mk V Centaurus and Skylark

According to the Roadmap Roundup, the ship cards for the Constellation Mk V Centaurus and the RSI Skylark have been published. CIG presents the Centaurus as a multi-role ship, with an enlarged cargo hold and crew mess, and bigger turrets and missile racks. A new docking port accommodates the Skylark, a snub fighter designed to fit into the hull from underneath.

The roadmap also evolves for 4.11. DGS Planet Subdivision, a technology meant to split a planet into several territories across different servers, moves to Tentative status, with Nyx I as the first planet. The Nyx I, II and III maps receive new images.

Unofficial: datamine data. According to dataminers, the client files detail three reward tiers per track, for example the Salvation Glacier livery and the Delphi RS-20 radar at Collection Tier 1. One dataminer claims to have found descriptions of two other Mk V variants: the Aquila, oriented toward exploration (individual cabins, a rank three medical bed), and the Taurus, oriented toward cargo. CIG has confirmed none of this, and these details may change.

Context

At the end of September, dataminers spotted a docking animation for the Skylark in the 4.10.2 files, and the October 2 newsletter showed it in flight under the caption “Out for a lark”. Strings noted by dataminers on September 25 referenced a “Constellation Mk5 Andromeda” and a “Skylark Display”. The name CIG ultimately chose is Centaurus. The September Monthly Report also indicated that two unannounced ships had completed their final reviews to launch with Genesis. Players reported the Mk IV disappearing from PTU shops and hangars, while CIG gave a Disco paint to its former owners.

What We Still Don't Know

CIG has not announced a sale date or price for the Mk V, and it is unknown whether the Aquila and Taurus variants will ever be released under those names. The future availability of the Mk IV for sale is not specified. On the 4.11 side, the DGS Planet Subdivision timeline remains unknown. Next signals to watch: the upcoming Roadmap Roundups and the weekly newsletter, whose latest Sneak Peek shows a desert landscape.
