PTU 4.10.2 in All Waves: ship rentals as rewards and rebalanced salvage (October 4, 2026)

Cavalera editorial team · October 4, 2026 · 3 min read

PTU Alpha 4.10.2 opens to all waves of testers on the US channel, with long-term persistence enabled. This build reworks the Stanton event (ship rentals as rewards, rebalanced salvage) and lists nine potential fixes.

After the restricted waves of previous days, CIG has opened PTU Alpha 4.10.2 to all testers, according to the build's patch notes. The test runs on the PTU channel, in the United States only, and long-term persistence (LTP) is enabled between PTU versions. The Live channel remains on Alpha 4.10.1. The focus is on stability, fixes, and new missions for the ongoing Stanton event.

Changes to the Stanton event

The main addition concerns ship rental mechanics. Rentals can now be awarded directly as a contract reward. The single-use delivery contract relies on this mechanic, instead of using a mission modifier as before.

CIG has also rebalanced the salvage reward values for the event. Additional uncrewed ships are also joining the contract pool.

Descriptions of the mining and salvage contracts now state explicitly that surplus materials will not be refunded. This is a wording clarification: the patch notes do not present this mention as a rule change.

The nine fixes in the build

The notes list nine potential fixes:

  • event reward badges were not all being granted to the player's account;
  • a strip of the Orison landing pad had no collision. The exterior hall openings receive invisible collision, to ensure physics on both sides of the interior/exterior transition;
  • exploration suits displayed four consumable slots for the legs, when only two were usable;
  • the female Doom undersuit helmet appeared transparent at several levels of detail;
  • a hostile missile turret was located on a recovery site for an event contract;
  • Hunter 3 armor in Shiny White and Shiny Black tints (torso, arms, legs) displayed in their base grey and anthracite variants;
  • the player's hands used the crate-carrying animation when wearing Hunter 3 arm and leg armor pieces;
  • the Pembroke Star Chaser armor preview still showed the base orange instead of the expected white and purple;
  • some Zeus Exploration helmet flashlights did not display their LED element and did not match the reference image.

Context

PTU 4.10.2 has gone through several stages. On September 27, the build left the Evocati circle to open to Wave 1, with the fourth iteration of the time-to-kill and time-to-destroy rebalancing (TP4) in tech preview, which creators measured on several hulls. Wave 3 then suspended this tech preview and restored the normal setting, in favor of stability, the event, and fixes.

Wave 3 had already touched the event: a balance pass on the mining, salvage, and logistics contracts, a rental contract updated with an adjusted duration, and revised logbook entries. The All Waves build continues this work by allowing the rental to be awarded as a direct reward. A patch-tracking channel had also reported on October 1 that the team was preparing a new build to retry the TTK tech preview. The All Waves build notes do not indicate whether it is being reintroduced.

The event's salvage had also changed earlier. At the end of September, a salvage mission paying 200,000 aUEC, linked to the Orison Relief Support event, appears to have been removed from the mission board, with no official explanation. A series of video guides on event missions has also published a ranking of salvage contracts by points-to-time ratio.

What we still don't know

Several points remain open. The notes do not quantify the salvage rebalancing: it is unknown by how much rewards have changed and which missions benefit most. The number of uncrewed ships added is not specified either. Nothing indicates whether the mention about the absence of refunds foreshadows a change in behavior or simply formalizes the existing situation.

It is also unclear whether the TTK/TTD tech preview will return in an upcoming build, or when 4.10.2 will reach the Live channel. CIG has given no timeline. The next signal to watch is the publication of new PTU patch notes. They will show whether these fixes are confirmed and whether the combat rebalancing tech preview is reactivated.
