What players report in the Star Citizen testing chat, and how CIG staff respond. Updated hourly.
Informal conversations from a testing chat. Nothing here is an official CIG position, including staff messages: these are live troubleshooting exchanges, not announcements. Read them as reports, never as established facts.
Many players report crashes to desktop, five in one day for one of them, four in thirty minutes at Tressler and Everus for another, up to twelve in an hour and a half across two machines, most of them pointing at the Nvidia 616.56 driver released on 26 August together with the Vulkan renderer, one player suggesting that this driver would rely on a DLSS 4.5 version that the game would not have integrated yet, another describing a systematic repro at Levski by using the ASOP terminals then an elevator in 4k, while several owners of 50 series cards report no crash at all.
A player says the missing missions being looked for would be the new Battaglia story missions, which would not show up after completing the Welcome to the System mission, another noting that a number of issues would still be reported on those missions before the hotfix reaches the LIVE channel.
A player on the hotfix channel reports that every retrieve button in the ASOP would be greyed out after sending his Prospector down to the refinery while stacking Battaglia mining missions, two other players saying that stepping into the elevator of a player heading to their hangar would put the ASOP back in service.
One player describes a Nyx shard slowly dying, with mining no longer registering anything and rocks going from zero to exploding as soon as the server catches up, two others reporting massive interaction delays on every server of the Asian shard 050 that would have been getting worse since the day before, and a fourth describing very poor performance at Nyx that would have improved after moving to the hotfix channel.
A player looks for information about the Orison resource drive, remembering missions meant to restock the city but no longer finding anything about them, and gets no answer.
A player posts on Reddit a manipulation that finally allows the super heavy armor to be removed, another reporting on his side that this armor would cause crashes and that he would be no more able to take it off, even on the hotfix channel.
A player explains on Reddit that he stays locked to the same server with an infinite loading screen after an unusually long server error, two account repairs having changed nothing, before announcing fourteen hours later that he got back into the game.
A player who logged out in his ship's bed wakes up the next day in the hospital of his home location and wonders whether bed logging would be broken or whether his ship would have been destroyed in the meantime, which strikes him as odd.
A player reports that he finally took down Mendo Rex with his team on a hotfix channel server, and describes the fight as very satisfying.
A player reports that the contracts of the second stage of the Recco arc would remain nowhere to be found for him, another offering him to join his own shard where fifteen contracts would be available.
One player reports that dying in Siege of Orison would lead to an endless loading screen announcing the nearest available medbed, force quitting the game having no effect and going back to the menu costing all progress and inventory, two other players adding that the fault would trigger when being killed in an Ikti or while getting out of one.
A player explains on Reddit that after passing through his open hangar doors at a Pyro station with a full hold, he would have been relocated to the hallway, his ship ending up impounded, with a fine charged and the cargo lost.
A player asks whether a blueprint exists for the Arlington rifle, which he believed was a Siege of Orison reward, another player answering after checking that no blueprint would exist for that weapon and pointing to a database listing the blueprints handed out.
A player looks for a way to get rid of the leftovers in his Moth's hold, under one unit of RMC and a little over one unit of parts, another player answering that the only way would be to destroy then claim the ship, presenting it as a mere cleaning fee, which the first finds absurd for lack of anything better, while a third suggests without having tried it that storing at a station with a refinery might allow selling it at the ore terminal.
A player describes his Asgard merging into the hangar floor and throwing sparks as it comes up to be used.
A player asks whether others have tried bringing a tank up in their hangar, his own exploding instantly with all three tracked vehicles, another player simply inviting him to open a report.
A player says several of them would see a ship retrieved from the ASOP appear for a second before the marker disappears as the elevator door opens, the fault showing up on the LIVE channel as well as on the hotfix one, some of them seeing their ship destroyed instead.
A player confirms that the game would crash during shader optimisation at around seven to nine per cent on his AMD 6950xt card, while he had no trouble at all in 4.9 or on the 4.10 PTU, and he points out that he did not update any Nvidia driver since he plays on AMD.
A player reports that in Siege of Orison the console would show a transport gateway schedule error after his death on the platform, the game never bringing him back to the medical room before the server disconnected him for inactivity with error 30028, and he adds that the transport shuttles would no longer leave either, before noticing a little later that everything would start moving again.
A player reports that the QV warehouse would still be broken and that the terminal would keep his access card as soon as he inserts it, pointing to the matching report, another player adding that the fault would happen when the screen shows a white card.
A player asks whether anyone has managed to reproduce the cargo elevator bricking, where crates would seem to get stuck inside, without having been able to work out how it happens.
A player reports that his Perseus would be announced as stored while remaining visible in the hangar, another saying that his ship would have ended up outside the hangar after storing it, with a free claim once and a paid one another time.
A player who has just fitted a Helix head on his Golem reports that he would no longer be able to take off from the hangar floor after the operation, another player telling him that ships would sometimes get stuck like this and advising him to store then retrieve it, which solved the problem.
A player on the hotfix channel reports being stuck in the lower mining turret seat of his Mole, exiting from the multi function display, holding the dedicated key, the emergency exit and force quitting the game all having no effect, while a friend who came to rescue him got stuck in turn.
A player reports that in his ICA the quantum jump would fail almost immediately after starting and then spool up again in a loop, the console showing that the starmap route data could not be retrieved, another player describing the same behaviour when leaving Levski with any ship.
