🔧 Patch notes and official CIG announcements
What has been circulating for several days under Evocati confidentiality is now public: CIG has published its notes for Alpha 4.10.3, first reserved for Evocati Friday evening, then opened to Wave 1 that night. The launcher should display VERSION 4.10.3-PTU.12999338, on a PTU server reserved for US players, with long-term persistence (LTP) enabled.

New missions: Vanduul Incursion
Intersec Defence Solutions opens a new line of contracts against the Vanduul and Shattered Blade clan, this time in open space rather than at existing sites, designed to test pilots and ground teams against the system's most aggressive force. Most of this mission line typically requires completing the work of Vanduul technology smugglers for Welcome To Nyx, but for the duration of the PTU all contracts remain directly accessible:
- Shattered Blade Raid (rank 1): clear Shattered Blade forces from auxiliary stations scattered throughout the Nyx system.
- Retake Ship (rank 2): a vessel has been boarded by Shattered Blade, you must board it and retake it.
- Vanduul Clan Extermination (rank 4): hold against increasing waves of Vanduul ships across three difficulty tiers.
- 3-Way Standoff (rank 4): player, Vanduul and Shattered Blade converge at the same location, everyone becomes a target.
- [redacted] Takedown (rank 4 to 6): hold against Vanduul waves until a [redacted] is drawn to the incursion site, across five difficulty tiers.
- Gather Vanduul Cryopod: retrieve cryopods from the field.
The hardest tiers are designed for crews rather than solo pilots. New combat and FPS points of interest have also been placed throughout the Nyx system, and a second type of Vanduul cryopod makes its appearance: alongside the classic red pods containing live Vanduul, a new shade now signals a dead occupant, more valuable and exchangeable with Wikelo. Completing the hardest tiers of this mission line unlocks blueprints for a new energy rifle, two new heavy armor suits, a flight suit and a set of unique ship weapons.
New FPS Weapon: LBCO Skarnov Rifle
Lightning Bolt Co. returns with a new fully automatic precision rifle. Specs: medium weight, automatic and single-fire modes, 27 damage, 500 projectile velocity, 0.25 second aim time, 375 rounds per minute rate of fire, 30-round magazine, 5-meter electric jump range (3-meter max). According to design notes signed by Zac, the Skarnov leaves an electrified pulse on its target that spreads to nearby enemies, with a high vertical recoil profile that makes it easy to neutralize well-protected opponents, at the cost of a heat buildup risk inherent to energy weapons: the higher the ambient temperature, the faster the weapon heats, and vice versa in cold environments. To facilitate PTU feedback, the weapon and its ammo have been placed near players: Area18 (Cubby Blast), GrimHex (Skutters), Levski (Conscientious Objects) and Checkmate (Weapon Shop).
The other official announcement of the day: "10 From the Community - Technology in Focus"
CIG has also released a new episode of its Q&A format, this time dedicated to technology. Ten community questions are addressed: preventing feature and fix regressions, converting Scaleform UI to the Building Blocks system, object pickup and placement, NPC behavior, social features, ground vehicles, and ongoing work to make Star Citizen more stable, connected and immersive. The episode sparked an unusually strong community reaction, detailed in the Spectrum and Reddit sections below.

🔭 This Week's Sneak Peek
The image that closes, as every Friday, CIG's newsletter bears an enigmatic name and caption: "Hyaoklo Meditation Focus," accompanied by the Yoda-like phrase "Meditate on this, I will." Hard to say whether it's a future contemplative activity, a place, or a character named Hyaoklo: as always with the Sneak Peek, it's a deliberately vague teaser, left to community speculation rather than affirmation.
What CIG sent its subscribers this week, beyond the teaser, remains essentially a recap of Day of the Vara festivities already underway and the Roadmap Update already covered in previous editions. Two elements are nonetheless worth noting: the ATMO Social, a thruster-extinguisher race organized by the ATMO esports community on a previously unpublished Levski track (Nyx), scheduled for Saturday, November 14 at 19:00 UTC (registration on the ATMO esports Discord event calendar), and a wallpaper gallery dedicated to the new Constellation Mk V Centaurus, posted on the Community Hub.

💬 Spectrum: synthesis of most discussed topics
The general forum had eyes for only one thing tonight: the reception of the new "10 From the Community" episode. The dominant tone is irritated, sometimes frankly mocking, and no -CIG responses were noted to calm things down across the day's threads.
The "10 From the Community" format under fire
Opinion: 10 from the community is a waste of time opens the debate with 92 votes and 72 replies: its author criticizes the format for drowning evasive answers in polished production packaging. Let me summarize the recent "10 From the Community" drives the point home with 70 votes and the Concern label, summarizing (in a sarcastic tone) each of the episode's ten answers as so many polite deferrals. The most active thread of the night remains 10 Players. 10 Idrises. 270 NPCs. : Is CIG Destroying the Future of Multicrew?, which racks up 196 replies around a specific concern: CIG's answer on NPC crews would suggest a future where server load would push preferring NPCs to real players to fill large ships. In the same vein, [10 FTC] An internal roadmap? Yet no progress tracker? wonders why an internal tracking tool mentioned in the episode hasn't been shared publicly yet, and Content still missing where has ISC gone regrets the disappearance of the Inside Star Citizen format in favor of these new meetings deemed less substantive. Somewhat apart from the issue but in the same frustration, Years and Years Were Spent Building Tools. Also, SQ42 Release Date Soon? wonders, without getting an answer, what all this investment in internal tools means for a Squadron 42 release timeline.
Gameplay questions born from the episode
Two specific answers from the video continue to be discussed once isolated from context. Ground Vehicles in Hangars Answer Deflating deems disappointing the explanation given on the complexity of integrating ground vehicles into personal hangar elevators, and Will we be able to drive tanks in 4.11? relaunches the question, still without a date, of the Nova tank's arrival. More broadly, People say combat is always CIG's focus, how? debates the actual distribution of development effort between combat and civilian loops.
Between quips and minor friction
On a lighter note, Dear CIG, are you going to buy the rights to "Mass Effect"? raises the half-serious question of a license buyout, while [Request] Comm-Link - Don't change the name worries, with 16 votes, about a possible disappearance of this historic name. On the concrete friction side, Star Marine halloween reward broken? reports an issue with a Day of the Vara-related reward, What can I do with cheaters? expresses fatigue with cheaters encountered in-game, and Laser vs Ballistics? relaunches the recurring debate on the balance between the two weapon families.
💬 Reddit r/starcitizen (by theme, overall sentiment)
The subreddit moves to the same rhythm as Spectrum tonight, but with a noticeably more balanced tone: the "10 From the Community" episode finds as many defenders as critics there, and a discreet visual discovery almost steals the show from the substantive debate.
"10 From the Community": mixed reception and a spotted silhouette
Unlike Spectrum, 10 from the Community format is good, keep it up defends the exercise, praising answers deemed more honest than usual. The crosspost 10 From the Community - Technology in Focus simply relays the episode without comment. More piquant, Amazing suggestion from 10 for the Community Chat has fun with a chat suggestion seen in YouTube comments: publishing the famous desynchronization essay attributed to Benoit directly as the next episode of the series. The reference comes at the right time: Benoit post about Desync is 45 pages and nearly finished provides a status update on this highly anticipated document, announced at 45 pages and nearing its final form, though without a publication date.
It is, however, Anvil Auxilia spotted in '10 From the Community' that provides the real find of the night: an Anvil vehicle previously known only by its silhouette makes a fleeting appearance in the episode. Anyone else spot the anvil vehicle? confirms the observation from another angle of the video, though without providing more details on the craft itself.

Ships, lore and pledge store
Question for the lore guys: Do Anvil and Aegis in the lore have a direct competitor to the RSI Perseus? launches an in-depth discussion on the lack of a direct equivalent to the Perseus at the two other major military manufacturers. I know the Mk 5 is the new cool kid on the block but... praises the Taurus Mk IV since its gold standard pass, which it deems still unbeatable in terms of value for money. Coolest Snub in the Verse? relaunches a classic debate on small embarked ships, while Do i have enough to do the F5 wars? wonders about the budget needed to aim for an Idris or Kraken as IAE approaches. More creative, I restored my perseus central catwalk for a speedrun parkour to the main turret details a custom setup for quickly linking the cockpit to the main turret.
Tips, bugs and an exploit that shouldn't work
Two PSAs answer each other on the same tip: Mothership PSA: For those who don't know, bed logging "anchors" your ship explains how reconnecting at bed would stabilize the position of a mothership to be able to return to it in quantum jump, while Another Mothership PSA tempers: the jump marker would continue to move randomly after takeoff, making the method unreliable. On the external fixes side, The latest NVIDIA driver 621.01 has a fix for star citizen signals an improvement on the graphics driver front. Weapons' rack should have ammo storage. What is your workaround? relaunches a recurring request for integrated ammo storage, echoing CIG's response on hangar elevators: Since ground vehicles are hard to implement for cargo elevators, what if we added dedicated ground vehicle elevators to every personal hangar type? extends the Spectrum discussion by proposing a dedicated alternative. More unexpected, Boggles my mind this works. Lazy Cargo Transport slacker gets paid, regardless. Well done, CIG coders. documents surprising behavior of the freight contract system, which would continue paying for sloppy and poorly arranged deliveries in elevators.

💬 Discord: what's circulating on the servers
Community channels followed live, hour by hour, Alpha 4.10.3's move to PTU: an initial announcement mid-afternoon warned that a new build was being prepared for possible Evocati passage to Wave 1 over the weekend, followed late afternoon by actual Evocati opening under confidentiality agreement, with the promise of a Wave 1 "later tonight if the build validates." This Wave 1 was indeed confirmed opened a bit later in the night, corresponding to the official publication detailed in the Patch notes section above. The same channels also relayed this week's Sneak Peek as well as the new "10 From the Community" episode, both already covered above.
🕵️ Leaks & Datamining
Unofficial content from community datamining: subject to change, never confirmed by CIG.
The most striking discovery of the night is a brand new Vanduul warship, dubbed Vanduul Hunter by dataminers who extracted it from the first files of build 4.10.3. Classified as a corvette, it would display impressive dimensions (420 meters long, 124 wide, 98 tall) for a crew of 35, and equally massive armament: one fixed nose cannon of unknown size, two S6 plasma cannons in forward dorsal turret, one S9 beam laser in central dorsal turret, two S7 tachyon cannons in rear dorsal turret, four S5 flak cannons distributed forward top and midship, six S8 plasma cannons distributed on the flanks, three S6 laser repeaters in ventral, and eight S10 IR "Cleaver" missile launchers. On the components side, the craft would carry three S4 shields, two S4 power plants and two S4 coolers: pure datamining from files still unstable, therefore liable to change or disappear before any public release.
The LBCO Skarnov rifle, now official on the patch notes side (see above), has also been subject to additional datamining findings that clarify its in-game ergonomics: an electron weapon firing at 500 m/s over a one-kilometer range, inflicting 10 energy damage and 35 distortion damage, available in five finishes (Base, "Raider Camo," "Ferrite," "Relay" and "Sparkplug").
Skarnov rifle variants spotted in datamining, supplementing the official design notes.
The "Raider Camo" cosmetic set, already mentioned yesterday without its name being confirmed for all pieces, is now fully identified by dataminers: it would group, besides the Corbel armor (without backpack), the Palatino armor (with backpack) and the Tailwind flight suit already spotted, no fewer than seventeen weapons in this same finish, from M3A/M4A/M5A ship cannons to the Skarnov rifle via the Arclight pistol, Arlington rifle or Novian crossbow. How these rewards will be obtained remains unknown for now. Two new weapons also appear for the first time in image: an Arlington rifle still without confirmation of shop availability, and a previously unseen variant of the CQ7 rifle sporting a VOLT faction logo.
Finally, beside the "dead" Vanduul cryopod already confirmed in the official patch notes, dataminers report a third type of pod, nicknamed "Vanduul Sample," whose animated and sonified electrocardiogram suggests a state distinct from the two already known variants: a lead to confirm, the information remaining incomplete at this stage.
