TL;DR

🔧 Patch notes and official CIG announcements

No new patch notes dropped: Live remains on Alpha 4.10.1 and PTU is still on Wave 3 of Alpha 4.10.2 (build 12811422), already tested this past weekend and which had paused the TTK/TTD rebalancing Tech-Preview to focus on stability and the ongoing Stanton event.

Behind the scenes, however, two team members confirmed next steps on official channels. Late afternoon, Wakapedia-CIG announced the development of a new build reserved for Evocati, with the intention of running it overnight for availability the next morning: the goal is to resume testing of the TTK rebalancing interrupted by Wave 3. In the evening, Nicou-CIG clarified that this new Tech-Preview would indeed be limited to Evocati, while leaving some uncertainty about an element still to be confirmed. A final message from Wakapedia-CIG, posted later at night, signaled a setback: the new build would have to wait until the next morning to be potentially validated internally before release.

None of this yet has a firm date: it's a rebalancing still being tested, with its share of last-minute trials and adjustments.

💬 Spectrum: synthesis of most discussed topics

The general forum shifts noticeably in tone today: general fatigue from recent days gives way to a collective rush toward the future of the Constellation, while a handful of calmer threads tackle store commercial rules, days before October 1st. No official responses slipped into the most active threads of the day: the community speculates alone.

The rush toward the Constellation Mk V

A question to CIG: Why not offer MK+1 upgrades to owners of the older version? (66 votes, 80 replies) opens the discussion by calling for a dedicated upgrade mechanism for owners of old marks facing successive overhauls like "Mk X". Connie Phoenix MKV has me more excited than any other ship in the game confirms pure enthusiasm for the future version of RSI's flagship ship, while Constellation best feature (9 votes, 20 replies) debates what truly makes this lineup valuable. In contrast, Constellation Lack of Information? grumbles about CIG's silence on the timeline and exact content of this overhaul, silence made all the more frustrating as a datamining hint confirms activity behind the scenes around this lineup (see the Leaks section below).

Commercial policy, days before October 1st

Petition For CIG to Split the Bundles (21 votes, 22 replies) campaigns for the store to offer bundles individually rather than as forced packages. More pointed, Can we Gift a giftable chained ccu'd ship with a non giftable ccu in the chain after october 1. asks very specifically about the fate of CCU chains mixing giftable and non-giftable upgrades, a question all the more timely as the date mentioned in the title is today.

Outlaw life and event wrap-up

CIG - Let me be a criminal! (26 votes, 108 replies) reignites the recurring debate on the poverty of criminal gameplay and the absence of true consequences or opportunities for outlaw players. In connection with the ongoing charity event, Relief of Orison Salvage - gone for good? wonders whether this salvage contract has disappeared for good, and Any word on spawn in place? revives the wait for a long-promised spawn-in-place feature.

And also, in brief

On the side of shorter but revealing echoes of a mixed atmosphere, Feeling a bit dispirited (20 votes, 24 replies) expresses general weariness, countered in contrast by A New Helmet, a New Verse – and a Wish for the Ones Who Build the Stars, a warmer message toward development teams. On gameplay terrain, In game reward items questions the relevance of in-game rewards, Intercomms & Shipwide Communication calls for an internal ship communication system for multi-crew vessels, and Lets utilize Cargo centers proposes giving more utility to freight centers. On the side of event anticipation, Before IAE, we need this question answered and CIG Confirmed Video Content for Next Week' Event? wonder what the upcoming IAE holds, while CIG - SQ42 Spoilers - How far will you go? ponders what disclosure policy to adopt around Squadron 42, and Ships in 2026 reviews the year's ship releases.

💬 Reddit r/starcitizen (by theme, general sentiment)

The sub breathes a bit easier than Spectrum today: fan-art, screenshots and small gameplay questions dominate, with still a clear echo of Constellation fever and weapon balancing debate that also crosses the official forum.

The Constellation and weapons, two threads that echo Spectrum

Will the Connie Mk V come with a new snub fighter? (posted the day before but still commented) directly extends the Mk V fever seen earlier on Spectrum, a question that takes on particular significance in light of the Taurus reward removal spotted in datamining (see Leaks). On the weapons front, Why are the M7A cannons always getting reworked but not getting the fireballs from SQ42? regrets that visual effects seen in Squadron 42 haven't been added to the M7A cannon in the persistent game, and Do the L-22 Alpha Wolf bespoke laser weapons sound different? wonders if the sound of the L-22 lasers has recently changed, a question that naturally echoes the ongoing work on weapon audio overhaul mentioned in recent patch notes.

The fate of "sunset" ships

There still will be a chance in the future to get these "sunset" ships reassures that the Aurora, while removed, could return in some form according to Q&A comments, information picked up with relief by the community. Goodbye, old friend extends this same sentiment with a farewell message to this first game ship, now difficult to access for new players.

I was bored today so I drew the pioneer A drawing of the Pioneer made in Procreate, shared on 09/30.

Gameplay questions: distortions, refining and loot

Question S4+ Distortions and experience report soft death, cargo and weapons loot details a thorough experience report on the "soft death" system and the difficulty obtaining size 4 and above distortions. Refining without mining? seeks to understand if it's possible to refine raw materials bought rather than mined to fill a manufacturing contract. Looking to loot the Testudo Nightveil backpack searches for where to find this specific backpack despite many Vanduul contraband runs, and Can you explain Trim and Cruise modes? Do they even work currently in the game? questions the current operation, deemed temperamental, of these two assisted piloting modes. In a similar vein, Who else hopes these Physics improvements will translate to Ground Vehicles? hopes that recent physics improvements will eventually stabilize the erratic behavior of land vehicles.

New and veteran players

My First (And Probably Last) Time Playing delivers a mixed-tone account of a first contact marked by bugs but saved by immersion. New player here seeks hardware advice for playing in virtual reality, and Please make medium backpacks expresses very concrete frustration over the lack of medium-sized backpacks suited to same-sized armor.

Verse life: humor, screenshots and finds

Imagine if CIG designed cargo ships IRL... ridicules the sometimes impractical design of game cargo ships. Professional Idris Carrier Pilots, Within 5 mins of returning after a long break and I get this and Just like back home at beggars canyon. play the amusing or nostalgic screenshot card, and Arena Commander - Sk(e)y(e) boxes shares a fun technical detail: the sky reflects in the character's eyes on Arena Commander maps.

love this game A ship breaking apart mid-flight, screenshot posted on 09/30.

🕵️ Leaks & Datamining

Non-official content from community datamining: subject to change, never confirmed by CIG.

The bulk of today's datamining focuses on the precise point scale for the ongoing Stanton event: each faction involved now offers different points depending on contract type and difficulty. At Foxwell, ship defense missions yield 146 to 417 points depending on level (easy to hard), and patrols 250 to 417 points. At Shubin, refined mineral deliveries are the most lucrative: up to 1602 points for Quantanium, a reward shared among group members. Salvage recovery contracts at Adagio and United Wayfarers Club resupply missions round out this scale, which helps optimize the choice of contracts to accept.

More significant discovery for what's ahead: the quest reward associated with the Constellation Taurus at Wikelo appears to have been removed from the game, a move that would be linked to preparing the Constellation's transition to Gold Standard, meaning its overhaul to Mk V. This removal directly echoes the wave of questions stirring Spectrum and Reddit about the future of this ship lineup (see above).
