TL;DR

🔧 Patch notes and official CIG announcements

Nothing is moving on the version front today: Alpha 4.10.1 (build 12650677) remains the only LIVE build. On official patch notes channels, today's update confirms that no new build was planned, with a promise of "something" for tomorrow. PTU 4.10.2, currently being tested by Evocati under a confidentiality agreement, continues to wait before a possible wider release to other testing waves.

💬 Spectrum: summary of most discussed topics

The general forum finds some calm after several days of continuous tension around bricking and p2w: these two issues are making virtually no progress and are giving way to a lighter storyline around the Constellation Mk V, a technical question about AI flight blades, and a tribute that continues to resonate. No official CIG responses were noted on today's threads.

The Constellation Mk V, between desire and worry

The storyline that started with the official teaser continues from a very practical angle: Connie MK5 should get a CCU token (110 votes, 145 replies) calls for the creation of a dedicated Cross-Chassis Upgrade token to facilitate the transition from existing models, while Concerns about a rumored Constellation Mk V, and what that means for current Constellation owners is more broadly concerned about the fate reserved for owners of current versions if a new model were to commercially replace them.

A question that has dragged on for a long time: AI flight blades

Hi CIG, I'm just here to ask when we'll get AI Blades. (81 votes, 48 replies) relaunches expectations around these AI-piloted flight blades, promised long ago but still absent from the game.

A tribute that continues to grow

Rest in Peace Bone. continues its rise (169 votes, 50 replies): the thread, opened as soon as the death was announced, takes on particular significance now that the community knows the name and background of the person it mourns (see the Reddit section).

The rest of the forum in brief

Several more specific threads round out the picture: Seamless Universe is getting more seams (44 votes) revisits perceived immersion breaks in the promise of a seamless universe, EVERY ship pledge should be feature complete as of 1.0 argues that no ship sold should remain incomplete at the release of version 1.0, and two quiet threads, Orison Relive Salvage Mission gone? and Queen Mothra - 200k is gone ! Seriously ?, document the disappearance of a lucrative salvage mission (see the Reddit section for details).

💬 Reddit r/starcitizen (by theme, general sentiment)

The subreddit is living a two-speed day: a genuine moment of reflection around the revelation of "Bone's" identity sits alongside the usual stream of ship showcases, practical questions about CCUs, and occasional frustration around a disappeared mission. The overall atmosphere remains rather friendly, carried by several messages of gratitude toward CIG.

Bone had a name

Cloud Imperium and Former Software Creations developer David Bone Gill has passed away from cancer, aged 51. finally brings a name and a face to the tribute that began two days ago under the simple nickname "Bone": David Bone Gill, who worked at both Cloud Imperium Games and Former Software Creations, died of cancer at age 51. The thread echoes directly to the Spectrum thread of the same name, which continues to gather testimonies (see above).

A 200,000 aUEC mission gone missing

CIG after removing the 200k Salvage Mission makes fun of the disappearance of a highly lucrative salvage mission linked to the Orison Relief Support event, an observation that echoes two Spectrum threads published the same night (see above): the mission, associated with the wreck named "Queen Mothra", appears to have been removed from the board without announcement or official explanation.

CCU, upgrades and pledges: commercial mechanics under scrutiny

Echoing the Spectrum debate on the Constellation Mk V, Constellation Mk V relaunches discussion on the awaited ship, while Upgrades and what you keep and After Oct 8, will upgrades to the "Game Access pledge" be meltable? both question the fate of CCUs and upgrades after a rules change announced for early October.

Upgrades and what you keep Upgrades and what you keep, published 09/24.

Ship and location showcases

Several threads simply show an aircraft or location with little commentary: Drake Marauder, 300i Mk1, Tibby and Dark Territory each share an image with no explanatory text beyond their title, and Rare & Forgotten Ships? launches a discussion about aircraft that have fallen into obscurity over the years.

Gratitude toward CIG

Three threads share positive sentiment toward the studio or its employees: Just wanna give a shout out to Tabby at CIG thanks a support team member by name, I believe in you CIG! expresses general confidence in the direction taken by the studio, and Wanna give a shout out to cig for the event! I think they nailed it with how long it takes to finish it :) praises, not without an ironic wink about its length, the ongoing Orison Relief Support event.

Bugs, curiosities and long-standing expectations

The usual assortment of technical observations continues: Nova tank just explodes out of existence when being pulled up on pad documents a bug of pure vehicle disappearance, Is this erm, low mining ? wonders at mining yield judged anomalously low, and Wear and tear revisits the equipment wear mechanic. On a more existential register, 14+ years, and we have 2.5 star systems. laments the delivery rate of star systems in light of the development duration, and One man's trash is another man's treasure shares an unexpected find with no further precision.

Exploration, speculation and solo player life

I hope when CIG adds the Tamsa System it'll looks like that illustrates with an image what the creator hopes a future undelivered system will look like, and Hi i just found some strange place in NYX shares the discovery of an unusual location in the NYX system. On the more personal questions side, Advice for a solo player and What keeps you playing ask the community about the best way to enjoy the game solo and what motivates continuing to play it, while Why do i need LTI? questions the real interest of lifetime insurance for a daily player. Finally, Who Was First??? and Will it be efficient? Probably not. Will it be fun? Absolutely. round out the picture without more specific context emerging from title alone.
