🔧 Patch notes and official CIG announcements
Alpha 4.10 remains confined to PTU (All Waves, US channel only, long-term persistence enabled). The only release in today's window is build 4.10.0-PTU.12456044, focused on stability and fixes between PTU versions, the Siege of Orison instanced mode, hydrogen fuel and quantum drive balancing, the Arlington lever rifle, the Orison Relief Support aid program, Recco Battaglia's return and Wikelo inventory updates. No Live patch has been released today: the Live version remains 4.9 while the 4.10 PTU continues its near-daily iterations.
New features in this build:
- Siege of Orison, Mendo Ren balancing: his precision was deemed excessive in previous PTU versions; his firing behavior and accuracy have been adjusted to make the encounter fairer.
- ASOP Terminal: the recovery button labels now correctly display "Claim Insured Loadout" and "Claim Default Loadout" instead of a generic label common to both options.
Known issues tracked on this build:
- The elevator leading to the instance triggers after a notable delay once the button is pressed.
- On Stanton, the client freezes for a few seconds at the second force field level when the main instance finishes loading.
- Severe performance drop when approaching the Solanki platform during Siege of Orison.
- The ARGO ATLS IKTI can become stuck in the ground after a high-altitude fall.
Notable technical fixes:
- 1 server crash fixed.
- Universal corpse cleanup: they now dissipate on a fixed 10-minute timer instead of never disappearing. The setting is intentionally aggressive for this test and applies to all AI, bosses and pilots alike; CIG explicitly requests feedback on its impact.
- New instance performance improvements and entity cleanup enhancements, plus other instance management improvements.
- Particle effects now correctly stream their textures, reducing memory load for effects previously loaded statically.
- Potential fixes for: simultaneous collapse of all active Siege of Orison instances (player fatal falls), desynchronization when transitioning from the "dogleg" transition instance to the main instance, command center airlock remaining stuck after respawn, Battaglia mission 2 not appearing in mobiGlas after mission 1, collision holes (exit from Battaglia's office at Levski, dogleg stairs), loot crates not spawning at multiple locations, cargo elevator stuck on "Transferring...", temporary disabling of anti-tunneling algorithm that allowed traversing certain tight collisions, supply missions displaying 0 SCU of hydrogen required, and an incorrect audio line when accepting Battaglia mission 2.
📧 Emails

🔭 Week's Sneak Peek
Week's mysterious teaser, accompanied by the sole caption "Hot or cold?".
Unlike previous weeks which openly showed the Kruger Stingray, this edition cites no name: impossible to say with certainty whether it's a new ship, location or game mechanic. As always with the Sneak Peek, better to take it as an invitation to speculation than confirmation: each person can see a clue about Nyx I, an upcoming ship announcement, or anything else.

💬 Spectrum: synthesis of most discussed topics
The general forum is running at several speeds right now: overall more positive atmosphere around the Nyx I and Genesis announcement, but still that recurring grumbling background on monetization and inventory, and a volley of questions about CIG's silence around Squadron 42. No official CIG response stands out in the most active threads of the day.
Monetization, always the crux
The subject that keeps coming back is money: « HOW CIG CAN MAKE EVEN MORE MONEY!!! » proposes, not without irony, monetization avenues, in continuity with an older but still very lively debate about selling skins rather than items and on the question addressed directly to CIG about its commercial priorities. Sign that inventory also crystallizes tensions: the thread on how the inventory system works continues to dominate discussions several days after its publication.
Genesis and Nyx I, cautious enthusiasm
The August 12 Roadmap Update continues to be discussed: citizens debate how the reaction might have been different if the announcement had been worded differently, while a thread enthuses over the new engineering gameplay loop teased in the wake. In the background, an older but still active thread questions the point of Planet Tech V5 and Nyx I if player communication remains deficient, proof that technical enthusiasm doesn't overshadow social gameplay frustrations.
Squadron 42, the silence that questions
Three different threads circle around the same question today: why has the community never been able to test a portion of Squadron 42, is the solo campaign only planned for consoles, and what lies behind the lack of announcement on consoles still awaits its answer. Implicitly, an older but still-followed thread wonders when CIG will announce a potential Squadron 42 delay, a sign of impatience that doesn't wane as the 2026 release date approaches.
PvP, ships and small topics of the day
The debate on PvP's place remains one of the most heated on the forum, driven by a thread that faults PvP for breaking certain players' personal canon. On the ships side, the Anvil Asgard draws discussion with a dedicated thread, and Ship Showdown makes its first waves of commented results.
A few more punctual topics also animated the day:
- A potential fix proposed by the community on hangars in loot rooms in Contested Zones, which inadvertently save downed players.
- A thread dedicated to the location of Starlight station's cargo hold.
- A discussion about the memory of the "great Fusening" of 4.10, a humorous reference to a recent technical mishap of the build.
💬 Reddit r/starcitizen (by theme, general sentiment)
The mood on r/starcitizen is lighter than on Spectrum: people laugh a lot, scrutinize the slightest ship leaks, and the tone remains globally benevolent despite a few outbursts about PTU bugs. The departure of a developer after five years at CIG also sparked a wave of emotion and recognition.
The Kruger Stingray is already divisive
Before its official presentation, the Stingray's design is already being discussed: « Stingray, Kruger gone wrong? » regrets a style deemed too massive compared to Kruger's usual sleek identity, a sentiment echoed by leak images of the same ship mentioned lower in the Leaks section. On the Constellation side, rumors of a rework fuel a mocking post about collective fainting at the announcement, a theory on the RSI Skylark as the official snub of the future Mk V, and a direct comparison between the Constellation MK5 and the RSI Galaxy that clearly favors the former.
A departure that touches the community
The farewell message from Galaxt1ka-CIG after five years at Cloud Imperium Games drew many messages of gratitude, in a much more measured tone than the rest of today's news thread.
Bugs, frustrations and gameplay expectations
Several posts document the game's current shortcomings: invisible walls still as annoying, the absence of satisfying impact sounds, a VoIP that continues to malfunction, and a recurring wish that space be truly dangerous. One player even suggests that certain planets be reserved for ground vehicles to finally give them some use. On concrete PTU 4.10 bugs, one post shows an improbable visual encountered in-game, and another points out the imbalance of the Nova tank, deemed impenetrable even against a simple pistol.
Humor and community life
The playful tone is never far away: « SC content creators be like » mocks creator habits, « I knew I'd seen this somewhere » and « Everus is stoned » play the absurd screenshot card, and the « Shocked Pikachu » on the leaked ship release calendar already predicts player anger over ships not gold-passed in time.
Creations, screenshots and small victories
The creative thread remains dense: one player shares progress on his 3D-printed Kruger S35 Manta, another enthuses about finally getting the Sol III Bombardier flight suit, while others showcase their carefully crafted character, their everyday Shiv or recount their first successful Jorrit Dossier investigation mission. A more anodyne anecdote also amuses the community: Nyx, the star itself, has OM points, a discovery no one was expecting.
🕵️ Leaks & Datamining
Unofficial content from community datamining: subject to change, never confirmed by CIG.
The big story of the night remains the Kruger S-65 Stingray, now visible in several renders circulating on leak channels:
First render circulating of the Kruger S-65 Stingray (14/08).
Unable to distribute the source image to protect their sources, leakers describe the ship as strongly reminiscent of the Horten Ho-229 flying wing, with no front air intake and a long central point at the rear; some also see a resemblance to the Gungan submarine from Star Wars. The wings fold midway at a 90-degree angle on landing. The default paint associates red wings and leading edges with a black fuselage, while the Concierge "Marina" paint would offer striped black and bronze wings on a navy blue fuselage with yellow touches:
Supposed render of the Concierge "Marina" paint of the Stingray.
On the mining side, datamining of PTU 4.10 (build 12456044) reveals that three new mining modules have been fully added to the game files, though still unfinished text-wise. The Deluge module could appear in loot, unlike the Clearcut and Overrun modules. Their actual stats differ slightly from their descriptions: the Clearcut active module would provide +30% to optimal load window size rather than optimal charge rate, and the Overrun passive module would only provide +2% mining laser power instead of the advertised +8%.
Finally, a list of internal deadlines ("final pass deadline") for several upcoming ships is circulating, also picked up on Reddit in a post dedicated to ship release dates according to SCLeaks:
- Anvil Auxilia and Greycat MFC: deadline late August.
- RSI Skylark: deadline mid-September.
- Origin M60: deadline September 22.
- GATAC Hyun: deadline September 30.
- RSI Constellation Series: moving to Mk5, current Mk4 receiving gold standard treatment, deadline October 13.
- Drake Marauder: deadline October 19.
- Liberator: deadline postponed to February 26, 2027, currently behind schedule.
- Kraken: deadline late March 2027.
As always with this type of internal calendar, this is a finalization objective internally at CIG, not a guaranteed player release date.
