PTU 4.10.2 Wave 3: TP4 TTK/TTD Suspended, Fixes and Stanton Event (September 30, 2026)
CIG has deployed Wave 3 of PTU 4.10.2, which turns off the TTK/TTD rebalancing tech preview tested in Wave 1 and returns to the normal setting. The team is focusing on stability, the Stanton event and a series of fixes.
In the patch notes published on Spectrum for the PTU Alpha 4.10.2, CIG details a new build, Wave 3. Its main decision fits in one line: the TP4 tech preview of the time-to-kill and time-to-destroy (TTK/TTD) rebalancing is disabled for this build, and the game returns to the normal setting. The Live branch, for its part, remains on Alpha 4.10.1.
TP4 on Hold
TP4 was at the heart of the Wave 1 test. According to CIG, the suspension is meant to leave time to work on stability, fixes and the ongoing event in Stanton. The notes say nothing about a possible return of TP4, nor about a reworked version.
What's New in Wave 3
The build brings several substantive changes:
- Power state on recovery: ships now correctly change power state when they are recovered. Engines no longer stay on by mistake when a vehicle is removed from the ASOP terminal.
- Event contracts and rewards: a balancing pass has been applied.
- Civilian NPCs: they are removed from UGF zones, following feedback from testing.
- New components: the inventory footprint of event-related ship components has been adjusted.
Fixes
CIG states it has resolved a client crash linked to the application of mission markers. A series of "potential" fixes completes the list:
- the lack of target spawns during the event's specific elimination missions;
- missing drop-off markers for the Scavenger Hunt;
- the dumbwaiters in event locations, which were not detected by delivery missions;
- the incorrect display of the SCU request chain for event contracts;
- Drake Corsair turrets able to cut the ship's power, with safeguards added to radar priorities and display;
- bounty mission titles, which now include the targeted ship type;
- the RSI Apollo medical modules, whose collision was faulty to the point that players could pass through them or fall through them.
Sidebar: what the build datamine hints at (unofficial)
The following items come from dataminers and from exploration of the 4.10.2 build files. They are not confirmed by CIG and may change or disappear before release.
- Skylark: a docking animation (pilot entering and exiting while docked) has been spotted on the RSI Skylark. It would suggest the arrival of a new snub fighter, possibly intended for the future Constellation Mk V. A Reddit discussion is already asking the question.
- Runic bundle: a Monolith Runic heavy armor, the R97 "Runic" pump-action shotgun, and a black and gold Runic paint for the Origin M80.
- Wikelo Shadowflux offer: a Monolith Shadowflux heavy armor and the F55 "Shadowflux" light machine gun, in a purple tint.
- Day of The Vara paints: RSI Hermes (black/black/orange), Origin M80 (black/black/gold), Aegis Eclipse (red/red/red), Kruger L21 Wolf (grey/black/grey) and Drake Vulture (green/blue/green).
Context
TP4 occupied the Wave 1 test weekend. Creators took time-to-kill measurements from several hulls, including a Gladius, a Constellation Phoenix and a size 3 shield, in a video comparing the Live 4.10.1 and the PTU 4.10.2. CIG had then announced that no new build was planned that day, while it finished other 4.10.2 updates and possible tech previews later in the week.
The Stanton event had already been spotted in the files. On September 22, dataminers linked it to the name "Visiting IASI", a points-based event with scales and tiers. They also noted a sharp drop in Orison Relief Support rewards. The Shadowflux and Monolith bundles mentioned above follow Wikelo recipes spotted in the EPTU on September 27.
What We Still Don't Know
CIG did not say whether TP4 will return, in what form, or when. The notes also do not specify the values of the contract and event reward balancing. No date is known for a 4.10.2 release on the Live branch. The next signal will be the next build announcement on the patch notes channels, especially a possible new TTK/TTD tech preview. As for the Skylark, the Runic and Shadowflux bundles and the Day of The Vara paints, only a CIG communication can confirm them.
